Engine Detail

Engine detailing involves the methodical and maticulous process of cleaning and dressing or beautifying the engine and engine bay of your car.

Today's modern engines's are not the same as car engines of of 20 years ago. In fact, most modern engines are covered and protected in plastic shroudings as are the electrical connections and components, the latter of which is further protected by moisture protecting grease. However, there are still some components which remain senstive to moisture and special care and attention need to be taken, partcularly when a pressure washer is used.

A typical engine detail involes the following:

  • Remove all debris from bonnet shuts, scuttle panels and engine bay

  • De-grease under bonnet Including heat sheild

  • De-grease engine components

  • Pressure wash residual de-greaser

  • Dry engine bay, under bonnet and heat shield with compressed air.

  • Wipe down any residual water or chemicals

  • Wax bonnet shuts

  • Dress engine components
